About Me

I’m Janany. I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. For nearly two decades, I have been dedicating my time to the cultivation of self-awareness and reflection, the promotion of self-love and self-acceptance, to serve and act as a listening ear and holder of space for meaningful deconstruction and healing, and as a passionate advocate for authenticity and vulnerability.

I seek to foster and sustain a safe(r) space for you through being 100% committed to anti-racist, anti-oppression, and social justice frameworks, and live, breathe, and be guided by these principles in all the interactions I do as a human first and infuse this integral part to the work I do as a Psychotherapist. I have dedicated much of my personal and professional time to advocate for more inclusive practices and spaces, and for the eradication of various forms of injustices and oppressions. I strive to offer a space where you can be heard, seen, and witnessed nonjudgmentally as a complete being.

I whole-heartedly support and welcome individuals who want to find more peace and acceptance in who they are, but feel weighted down by intense feelings ranging from self-criticism, perfectionism, doubt, sadness, worry, guilt- to name a few. Through holistic and integrative practices that I am trained in, I help create more room for acceptance and for cultivating self-compassion, more capacity to not only feel the “hard stuff” but welcome joy and laughter, and more tools and insights to manage day-to-day stressors and impacts on identity, relationships, as well as health and well-being.

I stay away from taking on the label of an expert or someone with all the answers, but consider myself to be a key collaborator and guide who values and deeply respects who you are and fosters the attunement to the wisdom you already have within.

Whether you are seeking counselling services for yourself or a loved one, I welcome you to to this platform to learn more about me and the professional services I offer. Have a look around and do not hesitate to contact me with questions or to schedule a free phone consultation. It is an absolute honour to share my knowledge and expertise with you and consider it a true privilege to bear witness to deconstructing your story.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
