Fees & Payments


I offer a free telephone consultation for up to  20 minutes to discuss areas in your life which prompted you to contact me, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether your needs fall within my scope of practice and expertise. I charge an hourly rate of $165. I have a limited number of sliding scale spaces available to clients who do not have extended health benefits coverage by their employer and who would not otherwise be able to afford therapy.


Cancellations & Missed Sessions

I require a minimum 24 hours notice for cancellations, in order to offer your spot to another client who may be in need. If you do not provide me with 24 hours notice, you will be billed at the full rate. Please note that your insurance will not cover such missed appointments.



Payment can be made through Interac e-transfer (available through online banking with your financial institution) and is due at the end of each session. A receipt will be issued to you after payment is made which can be used for reimbursement from your insurance company or income tax deductions under the medical expenses classification.


Insurance Coverage & Income Tax Deductions

Services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSW) are not covered by Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP) but are covered by some insurance companies. If you have extended health benefits through your employer, contact your insurance company or human resources representative to inquire whether counselling services provided by a Social Worker holding a Master’s degree (MSW) are covered within your benefit plan. You may also want to ask about how much coverage you can receive in a year. It will be your responsibility to submit the receipt(s) and obtain reimbursement from the insurance company.
